Trauma-Informed Professional Boundaries

This course helps health and social care professionals understand and maintain effective professional boundaries within a trauma-informed context. Participants will learn to recognise boundary challenges, manage risk and build safe, respectful relationships while applying compassionate, ethical and person-centred approaches to everyday practice.

Course Overview & Practice Context

This training course is designed to empower health and social care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to establish and maintain effective professional boundaries within a trauma-informed context. Participants will learn to create safe, respectful and supportive professional relationships while recognising the impact that trauma can have on behaviour, communication and interpersonal boundaries.

The course explores how to identify and manage boundary challenges, maintain appropriate professional relationships, recognise potential risks and respond to complex situations with confidence and compassion. Participants will also develop practical strategies for maintaining clear boundaries while ensuring that individuals receiving care feel heard, respected and supported.

By the end of the course, learners will have a stronger understanding of professional boundaries and how to apply trauma-informed principles in their everyday practice, helping to promote safer, more ethical and person-centred care.
